Ky residence of Caney Creek, cause of death dropsy, died Jan 29 1857 parents Williams and Catherine Ferguson. Executor was his son, Issac W. Ferguson.

William Ferguson (Josiah Ferguson1) was born 11 AUG 1755 in Belfast,

      County Down, IRE, and died 10 AUG 1839 in Grape Creek, Magoffin Co., KY.

      He married Catherine Lemaster 1783 in SC. She was born 20 NOV 1754 in St.

      John's Parish, Prince Georges Co., MD, and died 27 APR 1842 in Grape

      Creek, Magoffin Co., KY.

 

Military Service: Revolutionary War: 8th Pennsylvania Regiment, 3 years,

      regular army William's pension file. It says that he enlisted in August 1776 in

      Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. That he served as a private in Captain

      Samuel Miller's and Clarke's companies, and in Col. Aenas Mackey and

      Daniel Brodhead's Pennsylvania regiment. That he was in the battles of

      Bound Brook, Brandywine, and Germantown, and was discharged in September

      of 1779.

      He was allowed pension on his application executed 20 May 1818 while a

      resident of Floyd (later Morgan) County, Kentucky. The letter ends saying,

      "He died August 10, 1839.

      

      They first settled in Westmoreland Co. PA then moved to NC and on to KY.

      While living in Pennsylvania William served in the Revolutionary War for

      three years. William and Catherine were said to have been buried under a

      favorite tree on their farm overlooking the mouth of Grape Creek in

      present day Magoffin Co. KY. A military grave marker was placed near the

      site by Ferguson descendants in June of 1997.

      On the 13th day of September 1824

      personally appeared in open court in the county of Morgan the same being a

      court of record made so by ??? ???. William Ferguson aged 70 years the 11

      day of August 1824 resided in Morgan County (formerly Floyd) in said

      district. Who first being duly sworn according to law doth on his oath

      declare that he served in the Revolutionary War as follows. ???, ??? ???

      by Capt. Samuel Miller and commanded by Capt. Clark in the Eighth

      Pennsylvania Regiment and Second Pennsylvania Brigade and served three

      years in said company and received his regular discharge ??? from Col.

      Stephen ??? and from ??? of ??? ??? ??? the ??? and that his original

      Declaration (^ ??? a ??? ??? the pension ??? ??? ??? ??? ...) leaves ???

      ??? ??? day of ??? 1824 and his pension certificate datd the 20 day of May

      1820 and ??? No. 17083 and I do solemnly swear that I was a Resident

      Citizen of the United States on the 18th day of March 1818 and that I have

      not since that time, by gift sale or by any manner disposed of my property

      or any part thereof with intent ??? so to ??? it as to ??? myself within

      the provision of ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? to provide for certain persons

      engaged in the Land and Naval service of the United States in the

      Revolutionary War ??? the 18th day of March 1818 and that I have not nor

      has any person in trust for for my (???) property, securities, contracts,

      or debts ??? to ??? nor have I any income other than what is contained in

      the schedule hereto:

      One cow: $10.00 Two heifers - $7 each: $14

      Accounting to forty  five dollars in all and that I have no children living

      with me except a son who is a cripple by a fact(?) a horse and unable to

      assist him in his domestic affairs (^ and of over the age of 21 years) my?

      wife is in her sixty eight year and very much afflicted with the rheumatic

      ??? and unable to assist him (^ or his ???) his occupation is that of a

      common labourer and unable to contribute anything to the support of his

      family ??? ??? and infirmity (having been struck with the palsy which yet

      continues). The last schedule was returned for Amendment  which I have not

      a cow in my possession.

            Isaac died shortly after returning from the Civil War. Settlement of Issac William Ferguson's Estate was filed in Morgan County Kentucky Court House dated 8-28-1867 in County Judge's Office in West Liberty Kentucky.
 Amilia as left a Civil War widow with seven children in 1865. She moved next door to her parents for help in raising the children on Stacy Fork route 811 in Morgan County, Kentucky. Amilia was a daughter of Meshack Stacy and Violet Barker.

Settlement of Isaac William Ferguson's Estate on file in Morgan Co., Ky Court House dated 27 Aug 1867, in County Judge's office, West Liberty, Ky. (left open for 1 month for any debts to be paid, or any money owed to Isaac William Ferguson to be paid) On 23 Sept 1867 at the Court House, West Liberty, Ky, the foregoing settlement of the estate of Isaac William Ferguson was held in open court. since no debts were filed or owed, it was closed and recorded. Judge Wm. Mynhur, with Public Acct. Josiah Hareus presided.

Milton was a son of  William Stuart LYKINS b: 1798 Mother: Rebecca Jane COFFEE b: 19 Aug 1795 in Montgomery  County, Kentucky

 Milton Lykins was a preacher he first married Elizabeth Lykins in 1840 then married Elizabeth Ferguson October 25, 1855.

 

Milton was married twice. His first marriage was to Elizabeth Lykins the daughter of David Lykins and Nancy Williams; they had five children together. His second marriage was to Elizabeth (Kash) Ferguson born 8 July 1817, Elk Fork, Morgan Co., Kentucky. Together they had four more children. The first of which, James Franklin Lykins born 24 August 1856 in Caney, Morgan Co. KY, was the father of America 'Lizzie' Lykins. He married Phoebe Ellen Prater on September 1880 in Morgan County Kentucky. According to the family Bible America was born on November 8, 1882 in Caney, Kentucky. She died on August 12, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is buried together with her husband Sterling Price Steele in Maineville, Ohio.
