Koehler Rites in Bellevue
Funeral services for Kenneth Koehler of Bellevue, were held
Wednesday morning at St. James United Methodist Church in Bellevue.
Grave side services for Koehler, 63, were held at the Uehling
Cemetery in the afternoon.
Koehler was a retired Bellevue school administrator.
Survivors include his wife, Beula, sons; Bruce of Bellevue and Kirk
of Vancouver, WA, mother, Myrtle Koehler of Fremont, brother,
Robert of Fremont and grandchildren; Logan, Bradley and Cory.

Funeral services for Emma Uehling of Omaha, formerly of Uehling,
were held Sat., Sept. 17, 1994 at Warne-Johson Funeral Home-Uehling
Chapel. She died September 14 at her home at the age of 80 years.
Interment was at the Uehling Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve
Uehling, Russell Uehling, David Clough, Jim Quigley, Bruce Koehler,
Robert Goodman and Skip Katzman.
A memorial service was held Monday morning at St. Weneeslaus
Catholic Church in Omaha.
Emma Musil was born Feb. 15, 1914 to Frank and Josephine (Holub)
Musil at Dodge. She attended Dodge High School graduating in 1932.
She attended beauty school and owned a beauty shop in Omaha before
her marriage to Wayne Uehling on May 4, 1941 at Dodge.
They owned and operated Wayne's Grocery Store in Uehling for many
years before retiring in 1973 when it was purchased by Marv
Hilbers. They lived at Lake McConaughy until 1983 when they moved
to Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983; three sisters,
Marie (Musil) Frei, Anne Cochner and Della Kempf and a brother,
Joe Musil.
Survivors include her son and wife, Fred and Barb Uehling of Omaha;
two grandsons, Michael and Mathew of Omaha; sisters-in-law, Rose
Mary Hansen of Omaha, Beulah Koehler of Bellevue and Luetta Fritz
of Oshkosh and a brother-in-law, Nevin Uehling of Omaha.

Services Friday for Fred Uehling
Fred J. Uehling, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 14th, at his home in
Uehling. He had been in failing health for the past year.
Mr. Uehling was born November 4, 1873 to Theodore and Katherine
Uehling, on a farm near Hooper. With his father, he was active in
the founding of the town of Uehling. He owned and operated a
hardware store for may years before he retired. He was a member of
the Congregational Church, had served as treasurer of the school
board, and was active in civic and community affairs.
On September 14, 1910, he and Miss Magdalena Menshik were married
at Fremont. They had lived all of their married life in Uehling.
Mr. Uehling is survived by his wife; and five children, Luetta
(Mrs. Marvin Fritz) of Oshkosh, Nebraska, Mrs. Rosemary Hansen of
Omaha, Beulah (Mrs. Kenneth Koehler) of Kennard, Nevin of Omaha,
and Wayne of Uehling: nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
One brother, Frank, of Lincoln, and one sister, Mrs. Jesse Golder
of Uehling. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers
and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the
Congregational church in Uehling with Rev. Allen Martin
officiating. Wollmer & Warne Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.

Uehling, Neb. - Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the
Congregational Church here for Magdalene M. Uehling, a member of
the family that founded Uehling.
Mrs. Uehling, who died Thursday at an Oakland hospital following a
stroke, was the wife of the late Fred Uehling, son of Uehling
founder Theodore Uehling. The senior Uehling donated the land for
the town site in 1905 and erected the first building there.
Mrs. Uehling's survivors include sons, Nevin of Omaha and Wayne of
Lewellen; daughters, Luetta Fritz of Oshkosh, Rosemary Hansen of
Omaha and Beula Koehler of Bellevue; brother, Emil Menshik of Grand
Island; sisters, Tilla Howard and Mildred Humlicek, both of Omaha;
nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and two great-great
grandchildren.
Burial will be in Uehling Cemetery. Warne Funeral home-Uehling
Chapel is handling arrangements.

Funeral services for Nevin Uehling were held in Omaha recently. He
was 83 years of age.
The Rev. Bill Martin gave the sermon and Orville Von Seggern was
vocalist. Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Morris Uehling. Jr.,
Martin Uehling, John Bantner, Jon Sullivan, Steven LeClair and Brad
LeClair. He was buried in the family plot at Uehling.
Nevin Uehling was born in Uehling Mar. 14, 1912, the son of
Magdalene and Fred Uehling and grandson of Theodore Uehling,
founder of the town of Uehling.
He graduated from Uehling High School in 1929, then assisted his
father who was in the Uehling Hardware business. When his father
retired he was manager of Willhoft Hardware for four years. During
World War II he worked at the Martin Bomber plant and when the war
ended he joined Union Pacific Railroad as an electrician. He
retired in 1975.
He was a member of the Junior and Senior Clubs of the Union Pacific
and belonged to Electrical Union IBEW #618. He was a member of the
Uehling Congregational Church UCC.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Bolin Uehling of
Omaha; three daughters, Sandra Bentner, Carol Sullivan, and Mary
LeClair; two sons-in-law, Mekel LeClair and Terry Sullivan;
daughter-in-law, Jane Uehling; 13 great-grandchildren; 12
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Morris Uehling and Marlene Kay.

Funeral services for Dorothy Uehling of Omaha were held Thurs. Feb.
27, 2003 in Omaha. She died February 24 in Omaha at the age of 87
years.
Burial was in the Uehling Cemetery.
Dorothy was born Oct. 16, 1915 at Oakland to Oscar and Segne
(Carlson) Bolin. She attended District 69, Cuming County and
Oakland High School.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Bantner and fiancee Ron
Lindbloom; Carole Sullivan and Mary leClaiar and husband Mike; 14
grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Jane Uehling;
three brothers, Andrew, Edward and Carl Bolin: two sisters, Laura
Fineberg and Anita Knudson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nevin; daughter,
Marlene Kay; son, Morey; three grandchildren and two sisters.

Wayne F. Uehling
Uehling - Wayne F. Uehling, 68, a former Uehling mayor who lived in
Omaha, died Monday afternoon of cancer in an Omaha hospital.
Mr. Uehling was born July 27, 1915, in Uehling. He lived there
until 1943. He served in the U.S. Army until 1946, when he moved
to Omaha. In 1951, he returned to Uehling and worked as a retail
grocer until his retirement in 1973.
Mr. Uehling then moved to Lake McConaugly, near Ogallala, where he
owned and operated a music store. He retired from that business in
1980 and moved back to Omaha last July.
He was a member of the American Legion post in Uehling, the
Ogallala post of the Veterans of Forign Wars and the Uehling Lions
Club. He served as mayor of Uehling for several years and was
ambassador from Uehling to Ak-Sar-Ben.
Mr. Uehling married Emma Musil on May 4, 1941, in Dodge. She
survives.
Other survivors include a son, Frederick of Omaha; brother, Neven
of Omaha; three sisters, Mrs. Luetta Fritz of Oshkosh, Mrs.
Rosemary Hansen of Omaha and Mrs. Beulah Koehler of Bellevue and
one grandson.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Warne Funeral
Home's Uehling Chapel. The Rev. Godfrey Melergerd wil officiate.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Uehling
Chapel.
Burial will be in Uehling Cemetery.
