Obituary - John Realph
Dates = 5-25-1835 - 5-8-1925
John Ralph of Logan Township Called By Death
John Ralph, one of the pioneer settlers of Logan township in
Swaburg, passed away last Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
Max Slack at Mason City.
Mr. Ralph was born in Ireland eighty-nine years ago and coming to
this country settled in Logan township in the eighties and
prospered, tilling Dodge county soil. He was always prominent in
the Swaburg community. He retired from the farm a number of years
ago and for a time made his home in Wahoo but more recently has
lived with his daughter. He is survived by two sons and two
daughters, William in Swaburg, Ed at Crowell, Mrs. Max Slack, Mrs.
John Slack, Mason City.
The remains were taken to Hooper where the funeral was held Sunday.

Obituary - Bridget Rogan Realph

Bridget Rogan was born in County Mays, Ireland, May 1838 and was
married to John Realph in July 1860. They came to America in 1864
and lived in Illinois until 1868 when they moved on a homestead
eight miles northeast of here, where they lived until 1890 when
they moved into Hooper.
In 1902 they moved to Wahoo where they lived until the time of her
death, Dec. 18 from paralysis. Funeral services were held at the
home in Wahoo at 8 a. m. Tuesday and were conducted by Father Bor
of the Catholic church of which deceased was a member. The remains
were brought here Tuesday morning and were laid to rest in the
Hooper cemetery. She was the mother of eight children, five of who
are living. They, her husband, twenty grandchildren, one great
grandchild and one sister remains to mourn her loss. During her
thirty four years of residence in Hooper and vicinity she made many
friends who sincerely sympathize with the sorrowing relatives in
their time of trouble.
The children are: Mrs. Mary Mossburger of Lincoln, Mrs. John Slack
and Mrs. G. M. Slack of Mason City, Nebr.; Will Realph of Hooper
and Ed Realph of Crowell. Her sister is Mrs. Ellen Murphy of
Fremont.

Services Are Held For Mrs. Mack Slack, 94
A former resident of Swaburg, Mrs. Mack Slack, 94, of Mason City,
passed away at the home of her daughter in Fort Morgan, Colo., last
week.
The former Julia Realph, she was the daughter of a pioneer settler
family of this area, Mr. and Mrs. John Realph. She was the last
surviving member.
Surviving are three daughters and their families. Edward Realph is
a nephew.
Funeral services were held at Fort Morgan, and at Mason City where
interment was made.
