Edith Viola Haga, 89, of Hico passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Fayette Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fayetteville, following a long illness.
Born Sept. 20, 1916, at Edmond, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Margaret Horrocks Syner of Edmond. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Haga; a son, William Haga; brothers, Estel, Edward and Ervin Syner; and sister, Elizabeth Crawford.
Edith was a member of Sunday Road Baptist Church. She joined Eastern Star Chapter 134, Ansted, on May 5, 1950, and served as worthy Matron from 1968 to 1969. She was a former employee of the Hawks Nest State Park gift shop.
Survivors are her son and his wife, Bobby and Carolyn Haga of Ansted; one sister, Ernestine Treadway of Hico; a special niece, Josephine Workman of Lansing; a nephew, John Crawford of Hico; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 17, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Ansted, with Pastor Allen Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
