ELIZABETH IRVINE "BESS" SPILLER was a daughter of William Fielding Spiller and his wife, Elizabeth Catherine Irvine. She was born in Danville, TX and being unmarried lived in the family home at Esperanza her entire life. She worked as a schoolteacher in the local schools. She was a beloved aunt, sister and niece to her extended family.
