In His Majesty's High Court of Justice The Principal Probate Registry BE IT KNOWN that Alfred Hardy of Swiss Farm, Shirland, Derbyshire, died there on 3rd March,1950.
AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN that at the date hereunder written the Last Will and Testament ( a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) of the said deceased was proved and registered in the Principal Probate Registry of his Majesty's High Court of Justice and that Administration of all the estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representation of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid court to Jenny Charlton of Bonsall, Derbyshire, Widow and George Hadley Thorpe of Park Head, Crich, Derbyshire, a Farmer, the Executors named in the said Will.
And it is hereby certified that an Affidavit for Inland Revenue has been delivered wherein it is shown that the gross value of the said Estate in Great Britain (exclusive of what the said deceased may have possessed of or entitled to as a Trustee and nor beneficially) amounts to £6363-16-10d. and that the net value of the estate amounts to £6236-14-4d.
And it is further certified that it appears by a Receipt signed by an Inland Revenue Officer on the Said Affidavit that £98-15-5d on account of Estate Duty and interest on such duty had been paid. THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me Alfred Hardy of Swiss Farm, Shirland in the County of Derby, made this 14th day of November, 1948 and I hereby revoke all former wills and Testamentary Disposition of any kind at any time heretofore made by me and I appoint of Jenny Charlton, Bonsall and George Hadley Thorpe of Crich ( hereinafetr called my Trustees) to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will.
I give and bequeath: To my Son Eric Raymond Hardy The House, Shop and all Business Premises in Main Street and Church Lane.
To My Son Roger Alfred Hardy and My Daughter Lavinia Hardy, Swiss Farm with House and Furniture on condition they look after and care for their sister Mildred Harriman Hardy.
To My Daughter Lavinia the House and Shop in Main Street, Shirland , and now occupied by L E Burrows.
To My Daughter Ethel Mary Taylor and My Son Stanley Randall Hardy the Four Houses in Sherwood Street, Newton and the Four Cottages, Primrah (?) Street, Shirland. All Shares in Mansfield Hyde and Skin Co to Ethel Mary Taylor. The Plot of Land on Stonebroom Lane to Stanley Randall Hardy.
Any money, cash in Bank after paying expenses, to my wife Harriet Elisabeth Harriman Hardy.
