Theresa Meyers, East Maple Avenue, Adrian, Michigan died Sunday, March 13, 1988 at Bixby Medical Center. She had been a resident at the Adrian Health Care Center for one year. She was 94. Mrs. Meyers was born March 10, 1893, at Ogden Twp. to Ernest and Letta (Ragless) Smalley, one of the founding families of Michigan. She married James Howard Meyers on June 30, 1915. She attended Adrian public schools and was a graduate of Brown’s Business College in Adrian. She worked at Bond Steel Post Company and later was employed at J. C. Penney Corp. for many years, retiring in 1962. She was a Meyers Life member, a member of First Baptist Church of Adrian for 80 years, a member of the Lucy Wolcott Barnum chapter of the D.A.R., Progressive Women’s Club. Mrs. Meyers is survived by her husband James, one son, Richard H. Meyers of Adrian; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Robert, and a sister Hazel Mossing. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Everiss-Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian. The Rev. Ronald Tipton will officiate. Burial is at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
