James “Howard” Meyers, 100 of Adrian, died Tuesday, March 2, 1993 at the Adrian Health Care Center. He was born on July 29, 1892 in Toledo, Ohio to Fred and Harriette (Riddle) Meyers. On June 30, 1915, he married Theresa L. Smalley. He was employed at G.T.S. for 18 years and then for 23 years at Kewaunee Scientific Corporation, retiring in 1960. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Adrian Elks Club. Survivors include his son, Richard H. “Dick” Meyers of Sand Creek and currently in Florida; one sister, Mrs. Portia Kimball of Adrian; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great-great granchild. Mr. Meyers was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa, on March 13, 1988; one son, Robert S. Meyers; three brothers, Ed, Alfred and Adin Meyers; and one sister, Margaret Mitchell. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Richard Jorden officiating.
