Fred W. Meyers, 83 of Adrian, died May 2, 1983 at Hillhaven Convalescent Center where he had been a resident for one month. He was born July 28, 1899 in Lenawee Junction to Fred W. and Harriet (Riddle) Meyers, Sr. In 1924, he married Luella Colson and she died in 1937. He married Hazel Hyder April 1, 1948 and she died Oct. 24, 1977. Mr. Meyers retired at the age of 61 from General Telephone Company where he worked as a lineman. He was a member of the Raisin Center Friends Church. Survivors include three sons, Donald, Stanley and Duaine of Adrian; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one step-sister; Lucy Jane Underwood; one brother, Howard Meyers of Adrian; and two sisters, Portia Kimble of Adrian and Margaret Mitchell of Palmyra. He was preceded in death by a son Keith in 1967, and two brothers. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Braun Brothers Funeral Home in Adrian with the Rev. Lowell Shreve officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
