Mary Jane Pring

Mary Jane PRING, daughter of Mary Ann KEAR and Richard PRING, was born on 1 September 1840 in Van Wert County, Indiana, and died 17 January 1865 in Polk County, Iowa. She married Gilbert W. McKee on 10 March 1864. Mary Jane may have died in childbirth. She is buried in Byer's Cemetery, Polk County, Iowa.

After Mary Jane's death, Gilbert married Volender B. ---, and they had one child, John McKee, born about 1868 [note[.

Note: Although information given to Donald L. Kear said John McKee was adopted by Mary Jane and Gilbert, it is likely that the information in 1880 United States Federal Census, Franklin, Polk county, Iowa is more accurate.
