Jeremiah PRING, son of Mary Ann KEAR and Richard PRING, was born 25 December 1825, in Licking County, Ohio, and died in Dexter, Iowa, on 30 December 1908. Jeremiah married Elizabeth SHULTZ in Van Wert County, Ohio, on 11 April 1847 [note 1]. Elizabeth, daughter of Jacob SHULTZ and Eve RUPE, was born 6 February 1830 in Indiana [note 2] and died in Stuart, Iowa, on 20 February 1899. Jeremiah and Elizabeth are buried in Franklin Cemetery, Santiago, Iowa.

Jeremiah (Jerry) and Elizabeth moved from Van Wert County, Ohio, to Polk County, Iowa, around the latter part of the 1850's. Their claim adjoined his father's about three-fourths of a mile south. Around March 1867 they moved onto the farm of his father and remained there until after Richard's death in 1875. Jerry then took his family to Stuart, Iowa, where he worked for the Rock Island Railroad.

After Elizabeth's death, Jerry moved to Valley Junction (now West Des Moines), Iowa, to live with his son, George William. His funeral was held from this house.
Elizabeth was known to have had a sister, Mrs. Sarah Gump, and a brother, Alexander [note 3].
Elizabeth's father was the 11th of 14 children born to Henry Shultz. Her grandparents, Martin and Mary SHULTZ, migrated from Hesse, Darmstadt, Germany, landing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, between 1728 and 1790.
Jeremiah and Elizabeth Pring had six children:

1. Sarah S. PRING, born 1849, Van Wert County, Ohio, married Samuel L. McKisson on 22 March 1871 in Polk County, Iowa.

2. Margaret "Mag" E. PRING was born 8 May 1851 in Van Wert County, Ohio, and died 18 January 1934 in Marshalltown, Marshall Co., Iowa. She married Moses McCLEARY on 4 January 1869 in Polk County, Iowa. "Mag" and Moses had four children, Lindley born about 1872, William born about l874 , Clarence born about 1876, Jeremiah born about 1788.

3. Amanda (Mandy) A. PRING was born in 1855 in Van Wert, Ohio, and died in 1882. "Mandy" married Jord ATCHESON.

4. R. PRING, b 1856.

5. Mary Jane "Jan" PRING

6. Ethel E. PRING was forn about 1865 and died in 1892. She married Lee MITCHELL.

7. George William PRING

Mary Jane PRING was born on
18 November 1861 in Iowa.
"Jan" married Henry ADAMS

"Jan" and Henry had three children; Cole, Mable and Willie ADAMS.
