A History of the John Cears/Kear family
Elizabeth
Pring, daughter of Mary Ann KEAR and Richard PRING, was born on 19 June
1823, in Licking County, Ohio [note
1]. She died on 16 June 1861 [note
2]. Elizabeth married Isaac Brittson, Jr., on 26
November 1840, in Van Wert County, Ohio [note
3]. Isaac was born on 27 September 1818, in Beaver County,
Pennsylvania, to Isaac
BRITTSON, and died on 23 March 1891 [note
4]. Isaac and Elizabeth are buried in the Harrison
Baptist Cemetery, Van Wert County, Ohio [note
5].
Isaac
"was reared from the
age of twelve years on his father's farm in Adams County, Indiana, came
to Van Wert County in early
manhood. . . . After marriage [to Elizabeth, they] settled on wild land
in the central part of Harrison Twp." Isaac was first a Lutheran but
later became a Methodist." [note

After
the death of Elizabeth, Isaac married Sarah POMEROY, who died on 13
January 1881, age 41 years 6
months, and is buried in the Harrison Baptist Cemetery, Van Wert
County, Ohio [note
7]. He then married Mrs. Mary
M. Hillard on 8 Oct 1882 in Adams
County, Indiana [note
8].
Elizabeth and Isaac Brittson had eight children:
1. Mary Margaret BRITTSON, born 30 Nov 1841.
2. Daniel BRITTSON, born 6 March 1844.
3. Jeremiah BRITTSON, born 23 April 1846.
4. Martha BRITTSON
5. John BRITTSON
6. Jenny BRITTSON
7. Lucina BRITTSON
