Harriet
Rebecca BAYLOR,
daughter of Amelia KEAR
and Frederick BAYLOR, as born 7 March 1848 in Ohio, probably in
Champaign County, and died in 1938. She married Joseph M.
DEYOE, son
of James P. DEYOE and Laura CREEL in Winchester, Van Buren County, Iowa
on 27 February 1868. Joseph was born
to on 22 January 1842 in Saratoga, Saratoga County, New York.
Joseph
died in Mercer County, Missouri on 26
December 1937. Harriet and James are buried in the Ravanna
Cemetery,
Mercer County, Missouri. [note

The
Deyoe's moved to Mercer
County, Missouri in 1874, where they resided the rest of their lives.
With the exception of two years that he spent in selling
pumps and
lightning rods in the agricultural districts of Iowa and Illinois,
Joseph was a farmer. [note
2]
He
served for twenty years as director or clerk of the Keith school
district. He was a Democrat and a member of the
I.O.O.F. Harriet and Joseph were members of the Baptist
church. [note

Harriet's
sister, Elizabeth
Ellen BAYLOR, married Joseph's brother, John Henry DEYOE.
Another sister, Mary
Jane BAYLOR, married another brother, Cyrus DEYOE.
Harriet and Joseph
Deyoe had four children:
1. Laura Amelia DEYOE was born about 1871, and was widowed when she died 3 August 1967 in Hutchinson County, Texas [note 4]. She married William J. McKINLEY.
2. Ida Belle DEYOE who was born in Jan 1876 and died on 2 Feb 1875.

Henry
Franklin DEYOE
was born on 30 October 1877 and died in December 1974 [note
5]. He married Bertha May WOODS, daughter of Finis
Ewing WOODS and Virginia Douglas COON, on 30 November 1905 in Heppner,
Morrow County, Oregon. Bertha was born on 27 July 1881 in
Princeton, Mercer County, Missouri, and died on 1 August 1979 in
Dayton, Yamhill County, Oregon. [note
6].
Henry and Bertha had three children:
1. Mabel Frances DEYOE was born on 24 November 1906 in Heppner, Morrow County, Oregon and died 18 August 1997 in Yamhill County, Oregon. She married Jesse Owen HOLLIDAY on 3 July 1926 in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. Jesse was born 10 May 1900 in Oklahoma and died on 20 November 1983 in Yamhill County, Oregon [note 4].
