A History of the John Cears/Kear family
Amelia
KEAR, daughter of
John Cears KEAR and Mary Ann REED, was born on 20
February 1809 in
Pennsylvania. She
died on 1
January 1876 in Promise City, Wayne
County,
Iowa.
Amelia
married Frederick BAYLOR on 5 December 1833,
probably in
Champaign
County, Ohio. Frederick was born on 1 May
1808 in
Pennsylvania, and died on 26 July 1887 in Ravanna,
Mercer
County,
Missouri.
Amelia is buried in Promise City, Iowa; Frederick in Ravanna, Mercer County, Missouri.
Amelia came to Ohio 1818 with her family,
first in Licking Ohio, before
moving Champaign County, Ohio. After their marriage, the Baylor's
farmed in Champaign County and moved to Van Buren County, Iowa, in 1853.
Sometime
after 1880, Frederick moved to Wapello County, Iowa, where he
was known to have lived with his son, John BAYLOR, in 1886.
However, he died at the home of his daughter, Mary Jane
DEYOE. It is not known if he was visiting, or living with the
DEYOE family at the time.
Amelia and Frederick had seven children:
