In 1850 William Henry Bozeman's widow, Martha Hill  moved away from Hope Hull, away from the controlling Jesse Bozeman and her son Peter Edward apparently never told his children about their cousins in Hope Hull, about ten miles up the road, so the children and grandchildren never knew, even to this day, that they were kin.

Jesse had been buying things like watches or pieces of the land from Martha's children; there are several signed slips of paper to document this plus Jesse's son in law bought a piece of the land, maybe it was Martha'a share, as indicated in the Writ of Dower.

Thomas Carter signed document for portion of William Henry's land after marrying Jesse's daughter Lacy Jane.
William Henry's land sold to Thomas R Carter, husband of Lacy Bozeman

On the 1850 census Martha is found living near several other women from South Carolina who may have been her sisters and then John Hill.was surely her brother is Dublin, likely all children of the John Hill who served in the war with the Bozemans, with a strong possibility that the elder John Hill had that same plantation in 1820s.
William Henry was the son of American Rev War Soldier Peter Bozeman
and Sarah Brown
Peter's wife Sarah signed her X mark on April 22, 1829 regarding his Estate.
Vincent Joiner must have been their son in law if he was married to one of Sarah's daughters .

This Peter Bozeman applied for pension from the American Revolution but was
rejected even though a Peter Bosman is listed on the South Carolina 2nd
regiment and it seems that it was issued 14 dec 1785 to Mr Peter Bosman.
Documents indicate a deadline for filing and perhaps Peter missed that deadline after his move.

His land grants were in Darlington SC and perhaps he sold that land or gave it back expecting a land grant in Alabama.  His land in Darlington was surveyed in 1826 so that must be when he made the move. There was a land office in Georgia setup in 1819  to sell the new land in Alabama, so that may have been his first stop.

Obviously SARAH BOZEMAN did not die before they moved to Alabama from Darlington South Carolina.,    Sarah Brown did have three daughters on the 1790 census, who likely married and moved with them.
==================

Mordecai was the father of Peter, James and John.  There was also a Jesse during that time who served in the War and had a land grant two doors away from Peter in 1800 Darlington census - there had to be a connection. Mordecai was not found on any census records but may have died soon after the War, unless he went by the name of Jesse - we do not know their middle names.
Peter's son born in 1793 was named Jesse M so that may be a clue.

Jesse M named a son Jesse A Bozeman.
Jesse M was the only one to read and write so he handled all of the documents until his son was able to do so, along with Thomas R Carter assisting and Mr. Sterling Campbell who had married Jesse's sister Lucy.

The Hill family of Darlington needs further research into this lineage.  The John Hill plantation of Dublin is where the grave of Peter Edward Bozeman was found and there may be other graves of his family there, maybe even his mother Martha.
Peter Edward's son John Thomas Bozeman was the father of my granny Lorena who was born in Dublin. Lorena's families

Jesse M born 1793 is buried in Hope Hull and I expect that his father Peter and brother William Henry are also buried there - they had hundreds of acres and it is now so wooded that it may take forever to locate any more tombstones.

Jesse M had married in Darlington, possibly to an Anderson girl since his son's middle initial is "A", but remarried in Hope Hull to a widowed Francis Freeman, who was probably married to the James Freeman we see listed on other documents.  Jesse adopted her children.
Both Jesse and Frances died before 1855 and his son Jesse A. Bozeman became guardian of the minor children, including his sister Sarah Bozeman who married John Stacy in 1860. John Stacie was the witness to some other legal documents for the Bozemans. John P. Stacy was the appraiser of the elder Peter's Estate in 1829. ...

Alabama land records show that Jesse Bozeman purchased over 500 acres of land in the 1820s and 1830s - perhaps some of it belonged to his father Peter but Peter's name is not listed on the land records, however he was in the dispute with the Treasury Office about Bounty Land due from his service in the American Revolution; William also owned an estate which we find after his death but his name is also not listed in the Alabama Land Records online. Invalid is stamped on one document so perhaps Peter had injuries and claimed to be Invalid from the War..

One thing for certain is the document dated 1838 where Jesse petitions the Court to legally divide his father's land among the heirs, so that means another record exists "somewhere" that Peter received his Land Grant in Alabama

Maybe it means that Sarah died in 1838 and Jesse took charge. But it has become quite clear that Peter Bozeman owned land in Alabama. Land Petition Signed by Judge Bibb and Take Note of the heirs listed....

Peter's brother John is listed in the Militia on the South Carolina Roster online but records indicate he was rejected for his pension in Mississippi. Perhaps he fought for it and received it later.

Peter Bozeman's estate was sold in 1829 Alabama with his son Jesse looking out for the family.  Peter's son William Henry died in 1847 and once again Jesse took charge, becoming administrator of the estate.
