The Victims of The Massacre at Fort Ridgely
In August 1862, the U.S. Fort at Fort Ridgely, Minnesota was overrun by Sioux Indians.
Most of the men, women and children in the fort were brutally massacred.
Most, including infants and babies, were butchered alive.
A few of the victims on this list survived.
There are existing lists of survivors and refugees,
and a few of these people are on those lists.
The Military probably didn't know that there were survivors when this list was made.
