We, the family of the late William J. Coish and of the late Mrs. Dorothy Williamson wish to express our sincere thanks to all our friends, neighbours and relatives for the kindnes shown to us during our recent bereavements of a dear huband and father, and a dear daughter and sister. Williamson: The funeral of the late Mrs. Dorothy Williamson of New Waterford was held Sunday, June 3, 1973 from the V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home in time for services at Calvin United Church at 3 p.m. Rev. D. Roach officiated. Pallbearers were the six brothers of the deceased, Clarence, Jim, Cyril, Eddie, Tom, Murray. Burial took place at Union Grove Cemetery where Rev. D. Roach offered prayers at the graveside.
Coish: The funeral of the late William J. Coish, New Waterford, was held Wednesday, May 23, 1973 from the V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home in time for services at Calvin United Church at 2 p.m. Rev. R. Feltmate officiated. Pallbearers were the six sons of the deceased: Clarence, Jim Cyril, Eddie, Tom and Murray. Burial took place at Union Grove Cemetery where Rev. R. Feltmate offered prayers at the graveside.

NEW WATERFORD - Mrs. Ruth Jordan, 50, of 3734 Ellsworth Ave. died Thursday at the New Waterford Consolidated Hopsital. A native of New Waterford, she was the daughter of Mrs. Louise Coish and the late William Coish. She was a member of Calvin United Church. She is survived by her husband, Carl, sons Robert, New Waterford; Harold, Calgary; Roland, at home; daughters Carol Ann, Moncton; Maureena, April at home; three grandchildren; sisters Mrs. Pearl MacBride, Mrs. June Manzine, New Waterford; Mrs. Mildren Backman, Chester, N.S.; Mrs. Shirley Lawless, Chicago; brothers Clarence Coish, Edward Coish, Thomas Coish, New Waterford; Cyril Coish, Sydney Mines; Murray Coish, London, Ontario; James Coish, British Columbia. She was predeceased by one sister.
Cause of Death: Cancer
Ruth married 2 Carl Milton JORDAN [scrapbook] 1 son of Arthur Milton JORDAIN and Minnie M. MEISNER on 28 Jul 1950 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia. Carl was born 3 on 28 Jul 1921 in Guysborough Co., Nova Scotia. He died 4 on 27 Jul 1990 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia. He was buried in 1990 in Union Grove Cemetery, New Waterford, Nova Scotia.
Carl was a coal miner in NewWaterford for 14 years. He then worked for the Nova Scotia Power Corporation as a pipefitter. He then worked for the Town of NewWaterford on the Waterworks Division as a pipefitter. He was born in Guysborough Co., but his family moved to New Waterford when he was three years old. Carl was an amateur artist and enjoyed oil painting, especially scenery, mainly fishing villages. He was also a very skilled carpenter, making many cabinets and various woodworking projects, and his greatest carpentry accomplishments were the grandfather clocks that he built, his artistry increasing with each one built. The last one built was a mahogany grandfather clock with Westminster chimes and the face had the moon and stars. He was a member of Calvin United Church and when it was rebuilt after a fire, he was instrumental in building the pews and the cross that adorns the new church. He served in WWII and was a proud member of the Canadian Legion. He was an avid fisherman and took many trips with his canoe to various lakes and streams all over Nova Scotia, one of his favorites being Lake a Law, but he also went to such places as Lake Ainslie, Louisbourg area, Main a Dieu.
Cause of Death: Heart Attack
