Source Gary H. Thistle: Nathaniel Thistle was a pretty big man. It was said that the sons of Soloman Thistle where big men, above average for there time. Nathaniel was the son of Albert Thistle , it was said he had very large hands . When you shook his hand your hand would feel like a babies hand. Nathaniel was on his way home in an old pick up truck when he came across a telephone pole laying across his driveway as so he could not pass. A crew of men were on the side of the road. They told Nathaniel to pull his pick up truck to the off to the side and wait because a truck was coming to haul the pole off the road. Nathaniel was not a patient man, so he told the men standing on the road with his heavy Newfoundland accent (Bouys I donna have tyme for ya truk. Nathaniel stepped out of his pick up and reached his arms around the pole clasped his hands as so his fingers locked and heaved the pole about 3 feet to one side! Jumped back in his truck and said to the men who stood there mouths a jaw. Now bouys Ya Donna need Ya truk an a moore...Story of Nathaniel from his Grand son Robert Thistle... William White is my father's brother. He was born in Perry's Cove on Nov 15, 1902. He married Gertrude Johnson of Northern Bay and they moved to Boston and from 1932 to 1942 they had six girls. She died of Diabetes and childbirth complications in 1942. My Uncle Bill remarried some time later and died in 1962

We, the family of the late William J. Coish and of the late Mrs. Dorothy Williamson wish to express our sincere thanks to all our friends, neighbours and relatives for the kindnes shown to us during our recent bereavements of a dear huband and father, and a dear daughter and sister. Special thanks to Dr. Petrie, Rev. D. Roach, Rev. R. Feltmate, the choir and organist of Calvin United Church. Funerals
Williamson: The funeral of the late Mrs. Dorothy Williamson of New Waterford was held Sunday, June 3, 1973 from the V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home in time for services at Calvin United Church at 3 p.m. Rev. D. Roach officiated. Pallbearers were the six brothers of the deceased, Clarence, Jim, Cyril, Eddie, Tom, Murray. Burial took place at Union Grove Cemetery where Rev. D. Roach offered prayers at the graveside.
Coish: The funeral of the late William J. Coish, New Waterford, was held Wednesday, May 23, 1973 from the V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home in time for services at Calvin United Church at 2 p.m. Rev. R. Feltmate officiated. Pallbearers were the six sons of the deceased: Clarence, Jim Cyril, Eddie, Tom and Murray. Burial took place at Union Grove Cemetery where Rev. R. Feltmate offered prayers at the graveside.
