Because of location (Amherst Co., VA) and involvement of "George Lee" (possible son of Ambrose Lee), this William Lee is proposed as brother of Ambrose Lee d. Amherst and the son William LEA named in will of William LEA d. 1770 will Amelia Co., VA./jgs

Will of Wm. Lee -- Amherst WB 2:235 -- March 4, 1785, written; August 1, 1785, probated . Witnesses: Rich. Harrison, Cornl. Sale, Robt. Dawson; sons Jas. and Wm. Lee; ux may be with child; "whole of my children when he or she is 21." Each of my daughters when married or age of 19. Wife Susannah. Executors: Jos. Dawson, Jno Wiatt, Geo. Lee. Executors qualified on probate date - page 236. Bondsmen: Gabl. & Geo. Penn.

Marriage bond between Rachel Lee and Drury Bell of Amherst Co. Virginia dated Jan. 8, 1789, bondsmen Drury Bell and Gabriel Phillips. Attached to the bond is a hand-witten note from the executors of William Lee, deceased, giving permission for his daughter Rachel to marry Drury Bell (evidently she was underage and had to get consent.)
