On March
14, 1910 JW notes that the Steamer R. L. AUBREY exploded her boilers
with two men killed and others injured. Boiler explosions were a far
too often occurrence with significant loss of life during the years of the
steam powered river boats. The third photo above gives an example of
the destructive power of an exploding boiler. This boat was rebuilt
and named PLYMOUTH. |
