July 1, 1914 to November 8, 1914


 

Steamer W.K. Field docked July 1, 1914 with a hole stoved in S.F. side - 20 floores slapjacked  8 tops and fir deck - 9 bottom plank all lengths  2 new rudder blades.  Away Saturday July 11, 1914

Steamer Crucible docked Friday July 17, 1914, Chas. Rich Captain, off Ways Saturday 25   wheel repaired - cylinder timbers plated - rudders repaired - one new rudder stock - new Pintel bars and washers

No work at the Ways the last two weeks of June 1914 and all of July 1914 except some small jobs on Alice Brown, W.K. Field and Crucible for about 8 or 10 men

Steamer Sand Digger Charlotte Docked Thursday September 17, 1914 to repair broken Hog chains

Steamer Rover  new tops on her short cylinder timbers  new ends on the S. Long one  September 18, 1914

Steamer Voyager Docked September 26, 1914   fiting her out for compound machinery also new Deck from Aft end two aft end of Boilers    16 new beams - bulkheads straightened and new stanchon on same   new Engine room Locker  - frame for Condenser - new Engine room bulkheads and general repairs all over   towed from the Ways by the Steamer Robert Jenkins Friday October 16, 1914

Work at the Ways is very uncertain have done very little since the 15th of June 1914   I believe so far that these are the worst times I have seen in Elizabeth
