| Published: December 19, 2006 The Richmond Register James W. French, 82 James W. French, 82, of Rose Lane, Richmond, died Sunday afternoon, Dec. 17, 2006, in the Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center. Mr. French was born in Madison County, on July 15, 1924, the son of the late Sherman and Mary Thomas French. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired employee of the Blue Grass Army Depot and a member and deacon of The Speedwell Christian Church. Survivors include: his wife, Anna Winkler French; one daughter, Velma Cruse (Fletcher) of Berea; three sons, Donald French (Linda), Danny French and Ronnie French, all of Madison County; two sisters, Opal Chrisman of Irvine and Delina Roop of Berea; one brother, Paul French of Waco; six grandchildren, Brian Cruse (Trudy), Eric Cruse (Barb), Shella Cobb (Chris), Travis French (Beth), Brandon French (Tabitha) and Annjenette French; five great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: one brother, Jennings French; and one sister, Mable Richardson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Pasley, Bro. Johnnie Bowen and Bro. Maurice Dula officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brian Cruse, Eric Cruse, Travis French, Brandon French, Chris Cobb and James Glick. Honorary pallbearers will be John Maupin, Vernon J. Proctor, Dave Fugitt, Jim Chrisman, Larry Chrisman, John Kay, Bob Berryman and Jason Webster. |
