| Robert Randall Engle (January 4, 1928 - October 22, 2006) Robert Randall Engle, 78, husband of Ernestine Hicks Engle, of LaMonte Drive in Fairfield, OH, died Sunday October 22, 2006 at the Thompson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY. He was a native of Paint Lick, KY, a retired salesman, he loved sports and fishing, was on bowling teams as well as coaching baseball little league and Babe Ruth. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and Korea and was of the Baptist faith. Other than his wife Ernestine, he is survived by a son Randy Engle of Fairfield, OH; two daughters Linda (Sonny) McNamara of Lexington, KY; Diane (Thomas) Martin of Winchester, KY; two brothers Nelson Eddie Engle of Owensboro, KY; George S. Engle of Walton, KY; four sisters Josephine Cotton of Richmond, KY; JoAnn Peach of Chicago, IL; Betty Jane Rearden of Owensboro, KY and Shirlene Bernard of Houston, TX. He is also survived by six grandchildren Heather McNamara Koehler; Erin Kathleen McNamara Abadia; Jason Thomas Martin; Robert Lawrence Martin; Lauren Engle and Brandon Engle. And several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday October 26, 2006 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Rev. Tony Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Engle, Sonny McNamara, Jason Martin, Eddie Engle, E.J. Rearden and Wendell Peach. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Lewis, Herb Blandford and Otis Staniford. Visitation will be Wednesday October 25, 2006 from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Alzheimer’s Research, Thompson Hood Veterans Center Trust Fund or Hospice of the Bluegrass. |
