Owens Home for Funerals Chapel Interment: Fairview Cemetery in Willailla, KY Mrs. Geneva Stevens Elder, age 77, widow of Glenn Elder of Lexington, Ky. passed away, Thursday, August 31st, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY. She was born on May 17th, 1929 in Level Green, KY; a daughter of the late James Stevens and Emma Brown Stevens. She was a homemaker and a member of University Heights Church of Christ, Her hobbies and interest include reading, sewing, and cooking. Those left to mourn her passing include One dauhgter – Arlena Poynter, and Bennie of Lexington, KY. Two Grandchildren, Michael Lee Poynter, and Jamie of Lexington, KY; and Stephen Edward Poynter of Lexington, KY; seven sisters – Marie Goff of Willailla, KY; Gusta Elder and Kenneth of Florence, KY; Juanita McHargue and Authur of Indianapolis, IN; Beulah Hart of Hazel Dell, KY; Jean Cook of Crittenden, KY; Deloris McClure and Howard of Mt. Vernon, KY; Shirley Thompson and Arnold of Eubank, KY. As well as a host of friends and neighbors who also mourn her passing. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Elder, one sister, Martha Faye Hickam, one brother, Phyllis Burdette Stevens. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 2nd, 2006 at 1 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, with Bros. Rick Wadlington, and Curt Herrington officiating; burial in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 1st, 2006 at 5:00 P.M., and Saturday September 2nd from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. |
