Mrs. Elizabeth Lorene Kirby Doan, age 58, wife of Jesse Doan, of Sand Springs Rd., Mt. Vernon passed away Jan. 3, 2006 at her residence. She was born on Dec. 31, 1947 in Mt. Vernon, a daughter of the late Cecil and Bessie Cromer Kirby. She was a member of First Church of Jesus Christ Church, was a homemaker, a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies and interest were her grandchildren, enjoyed being a Christian. On July 3, 1963, she was united in holy matrimony to Jesse Monroe Doan and from that union came six children-Janice, Dale, Brenda, Jenny, Judy and Brian.

Those left to mourn her passing include her husband Jesse Monroe Doan; her children-Janice Poynter and Chris of Brodhead, Ky; Dale Doan and Tammy of Mt. Vernon; Brenda Cameron and Jeff of Brodhead; Jenny Harper and Paul of Mt. Vernon; Judy Cameron and Carlos of Annville; and Brian Doan and Tabatha of Mt. Vernon. Seventeen grandchildren-Brittney, Timothy, Jessica, Jerrica, Kayla, Samantha, Kyle, Anthony, Travis, Casey, Taylor, Chelsey, Jordon, Mason, Caitlin, Jamison, Chase. One great grandchild-Zaden Tray Barnett. One brother-Paul Kirby and Clarice of Mt. Vernon. Six sisters-Lois Nicely and James of Mt. Vernon; Dot Sowder and Jimmy of Lockland, OH; Villa Tingle and Jeff of New Whiteland, Ind; Lacey Buck and Kenneth of Franklin, Ind.; Sue Peters and James of Berea; Jeanny Vickers and Gary of Berea; Special nieces and nephews, and special friends-Fred and Irene McFerron and Barbara French. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-Tommy Kirby and an infant sister-Linda Kirby.

Visitation for Mrs. Lorene Doan will be Thurs. Jan. 5, 2006 at 6PM, at Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals; Services will be Fri. Jan. 6, 2006 at 2PM at the Marvin E. Owens Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. James Nicley and Bro. Wendell Martin officiating; burial will follow in the Tom Stevens Cemetery.
