| Published: December 29, 2006 The Richmond Register Shirley Dickerson Shirley Dickerson, 90, husband of Sarah McQueen Dickerson went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2006. Born in Waco on May 15, 1916, he was the son of the late Frank and Fannie Cain Dickerson. He was retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot after 29 years. He was also a Veteran of World War II, where he served in the United States Air Force in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Moberly Avenue Community Church of God. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: daughters Rebecca Dickerson (Dwight) Marshall and Freda Dickerson (David) Woosley, both of Richmond; sisters Docia Kearns of Richmond and Virgie Cole of Lexington; grandsons Scott Marshall, David Robert Woosley, Dwight Curtis Marshall and Daniel Woosley; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and disters. Funeral dervices will be conducted Sunday, December 31, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Turpin Funeral Home with the Rev. David Woosley and the Rev. Forrest Turpin officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery in Waco. Casketbearers will be Scott Marshall, David Robert Woosley, Curtis Marshall, Daniel Woosley, Ronnie Newman and Michael Newman. Visitation will be Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. |
