James was retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot and a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church. James was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Stella M. Dees, a brother Stephen Dees, a sister Ida Mae Van Winkle and 5 grandchildren. James is survived by 12 children: Wanda (Wayne) Isaacs, Lloyd (Donna) Dees, Eugene (Roxie) Dees, Viola “Shug” Gilbert, Johnny (Cathy) Dees, Joe (Lois) Dees, Billy Dees and Mark Dees all of Mt. Vernon, KY. James “Biggen” (Doris) Dees of Jackson Co. Luke (Kathy) Dees of Brodhead, Robbie (Lisa) Dees of Berea and Anna Mae (Jerry) Shelton of Somerset, KY. One Brother Donald Dees, and 6 sisters Lillian Allen, Myrtle Rudy, Sue Bowman, Annie Parsons, Mary Lou Bowman and Nora Poynter. Also surviving James are 39 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday October 14, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Clear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Henson and Rev. Kenny Queener officiating. Burial will be in the Dees-Harding Cemetery. Pallbearers are Michael Dees, Charley Kirby, Dennis Williams, Tommy Dees, Robert Dees, Jeff Isaacs and Sam Dees. Honorary bearers are Jr. Weaver, Tiny weaver, Logan Dees, BJ Dees, Jeremiah Dees, Brian Lainhart, Jay Croucher, Curtis Northern, Chris Croucher, Lloyd Dees II and Johnny Ray Dees.
