| Ruby Hollingsworth Day (December 8, 1919 - February 7, 2006) Ruby Lee Day, 86, a resident for a short period in Shelbyville, TN and formerly of Richmond, KY, died Tuesday, February 7, 2006, in Shelbyville. She was theWife of James S. Day, who owned and operated Day’s Transfer for 50 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Richmond Survivors include two daughters, Judith C. Walker of Indianapolis, IN and Margaret J. Black of Lexington; one son, Sammy Day of Shelbyville, TN; six grandchildren, Jason Day, Seth Day, Jessica Day, Danny Black, Deborah Oakley and Dean Walker Jr.; seven great grandchildren. Other survivors include her sisters, Ree Votow and Stella Graves, both of Lexington, Jean Divine of Ocala, FL and Mary Sparks of Waco, KY; her brothers, Owen and Bill Hollingsworth of Lexington, Herbert Hollingsworth of St. Petersburg, FL and Leonard Hollingsworth of Richmond. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow at the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. |
