M. - 1:30 P.M. - Brodhead Christian Church Funeral Service: Saturday, September 10th, 2005 - 1:30 P.M. at the Brodhead Christian Church Interment: Good Hope Cemetery Mrs. Nellie Kluttz Colson, age 91, wife of Mr. Clay Colson of Brodhead, Ky. passed away, Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at the Rockcastle Hospital. She was born May 6, 1914 in Hendersonville, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Charles Alexander and Anne Belle Orpin Kluttz. She was a member of the Brodhead Christian Church, Rockcastle Co. Homemakers, & Christian Church Ladies Aid Society. Her hobbies and interest include creating meal tray cards for hospitalized individuals and supporting the Rockcastle Co. Library. She was a Nurse for the Rockcastle Co. Health Department, was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. On November 1, 1937 she was united in holy matrimony to Clay A. Colson and from that union came four children-William Clay Colson, Robert McGarvey Colson, Charles Edward Colson , and David Gillis Colson. Those left to mourn her passing include her husband of 67 years, Clay A. Colson of Brodhead; Four sons- William Clay Colson, Robert McGarvey Colson, Charles Edward Colson and David Gillis Colson. Ten grandchildren-Cynthia L. Colson, Elizabeth A. Lindemen, John C. Colson, Amanda F. Sturgill, Katherine A. Moore, Sarah E. Colson, Steven A. Colson, Kevin E. Colson, Bryan A. Colson and Holly Ann Colson. A great grandchild-Claire Sturgill. As well as a host of friends and neighbors. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-Charles Kluttz, Jr., two sisters-Alice Strider and Eleanor Nesbett. Visitation for Mrs. Nellie Colson will be Friday, September 9, 205 from 6-9PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals AND Saturday, September 10th, 2005 from 11:30AM-1:30PM at the Brodhead Christian Church. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 1:30PM at the Brodhead Christian Church with Bro. Shannon Franklin officiating; burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery.
