| Betty Jane Collins (December 1, 1923 - January 3, 2007) Betty Jane Hammons Collins, 83, widow of Robert P. Collins, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at The Neighborhood Extended Care Facility. A native of Butler, Kentucky, she was the daughter of William Virgil & Vivian Hammons. She was a retired employee of over 30 years at the Pattie A. Clay Hospital and a member of the First Christian Church. She is survived by three daughters, Rea Collins Swan (David) of Lexington, KY; Dee Collins Mullins (Paul) of Richmond, KY; and Jane Collins of Richmond, KY. One grandchild, Laura Morgan Hammons. Two brothers, William “W.V.” Hammons Jr. of Richmond, KY; and Thomas Hammons of Florence, KY. She is preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Hammons. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Heart Association or the Humane Society. |
