| Don E. Cloys (August 11, 1940 - June 11, 2006) Dr. Don Edwards Cloys, 65, died Sunday, June 11, 2006 at the U.K. Medical Center. He was a graduate of Carson Newman College in Tennessee, and the University of Kentucky School of Medicine. He completed an internship at Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Dartmouth, New Hampshire and a residency at the University of Kentucky. He opened a private practice in general surgery in Richmond, KY in 1972 and retired in 2002. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Perry, Florida. He is survived by his wife of thirty six years, Jo Helen Tucker Cloys, two sons Kenneth Paul (Joyce) Cloys of North Carolina, Mark Andrew (Marian) Cloys of Philadelphia, Mississippi; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his father A.B. Cloys, one brother Bill (Paula) Cloys, three sisters Diane (Richard) Frith, Carma Lee (Leonard) Chandler and Alice (Bill) Cone. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora “Nell” Cloys. A celebration of life will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday (June 18, 2006) at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Gordon conducting the celebration services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Pattie A. Clay Foundation. |
