Mrs. Zana Childress age 90, of 85 Joyce St. Mt. Vernon died Tuesday April 22, 2003 at the Rockcastle Hospital after a long illness. She was born on November 30, 1912 in Rockcastle County the daughter of the late Charlie and Bessie McClure Blackburn. She was a housewife, enjoyed crafts, quilting, and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Pentecostal Church.

Survivors are: Two sisters; Mrs. Mae McQueen of Hamilton, Oh., and Mrs. Flora Hopkins of Mt. Vernon. Nine nieces & nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband; Walker Childress, by one daughter; Billie Wanda Childress, by five brothers; Cam, Walter, Jack, John, and Tom Blackburn, and by three sisters; Jean True, Florence Adams, and Minnie Doan.
