| Mr. Hubert Chasteen, Sr. Born: 06/14/1918 Died: 03/28/2005 Visitation: Wed 5 - 9 PM Funeral Service: Thurs 1:00 PM Interment: Fairview Cemetery Hubert Chasteen, Sr., 86 of Rt. 3 Mt. Vernon, died Monday, March 28, at his residence following an illness. He was a Rockcastle County native born June 14, 1918, son of the late Nick and Mary Gadd Chasteen, a carpenter, farmer, and member of Fairview Baptist Church. Survivors include 2 sons, Hubert (Lynetta) Chasteen, Jr., Clayton Wayne (Carolyn) Chasteen of Berea; 3 daughters, Janet (R.J.) Ridgell, Darlene (Anthony) Abney of Mt. Vernon, Joyce (James) Seals of Berea; 5 half brothers and sisters, Nick Chasteen, Robert Chasteen, David Chasteen, Mary Catherine Mills, and Lucy Gabbard; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Lee Reppert Chasteen, and one great grandson Aaron Harold. Funeral service 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Reppert Funeral Home with Rev. Steve McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation 5 - 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will grandchildren and great grandchildren. |
