| Published: January 04, 2007 The Richmond Register Robert Calkin, 75 Robert LaFord “Bob” Calkin, 75, of Richmond, passed away Friday evening, December 22, 2006, in the Richmond Health & Rehabilitation Complex—Madison. He was born July 26, 1931, in Hawley, Penn., the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Schaibly Calkin. He received his teaching degree from William Paterson University and then taught mathematics in middle and high school in Plainfield, N.Y., until his retirement in 1986. After retiring, Bob lived in New York state and Vermont for five years before moving to Richmond in 1991. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, Bob was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church PCA in Richmond, where he recently was awarded Deacon Emeritus status in the church for his years of quiet service at Trinity. He was active as Scoutmaster of Troop 77 in Paterson, N.J., for several years. He is survived by: his brothers, Jerry Calkin (Judy) of Richmond and Edwin Calkin (Lorraine) of Parsippany, N.J.; a niece, Karen (Jim) Thompson; nephews, John Calkin, David (Susan) Calkin and Eric Calkin; two great-nieces, a great-nephew and several cousins. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2007, at the Trinity Church PCA, 315 Spangler Drive, Richmond (behind Pizza Hut on the Eastern Bypass).
