| Roy C. Bowlin (March 29, 1924 - September 19, 2006) Roy C. Bowlin, 82, the of Overland Drive, husband of Opal Dees Bowlin, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at his home following a long illness. A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late Luther & Alpha Prewitt Bowlin. He was a retired employee of the Bluegrass Army Depot. He was an Army veteran of W W II and a recipient of a Purple Heart. Mr. Bowlin was a member of Eastside Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his loving wife of over sixty years, Opal, he is survived by one daughter, Marsha Sue (Larry) Bowlin of West Chester, OH; one son, Roy Douglas (Pam) Bowlin of Richmond; twelve grandchildren, Sue Ann Richardson, Sandy Baker, Lynn (Steve) Denton, Ernie McQueen, Stacy (David) Richards, Amy (Jeff) Bowling, Tammy Bowlin, Keith Bowlin and Holly Bowlin and one great grandchild. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Ann McQueen. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Luther Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens, with military honors observed. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Keith Bowlin, Ernie McQueen, Joshua Richards, Nicholas Richards, James Kelley and Martin Bowlin. Honorary bearers are Ray Brooks and James D. Harris. |
