| Mr. Robert Boggs Born: 10/04/1918 Died: 09/16/2005 Visitation: Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at Lakes Funeral Home Funeral Service: 11 am Monday at Berea Cemetery Interment: Berea Cemetery Robert “Bob” Boggs age 86 husband of May Johnston Boggs, passed away Friday September 16, 2005 at Berea Hospital. Bob was born on October 4, 1918 in Jackson County, Kentucky to the late Ben “Lawrence” and Sally Cunigan Boggs. Bob is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years May Johnston Boggs; one brother Junior “Ben” Boggs; three children Francis Harold (Jennie) Boggs, Louise Carolyn (Doug) Boggs Layne and Robert Benny (Glenda) Boggs; 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Buddie, Chester and Warren Boggs and one sister Hazel Boggs Wilson. He graduated from Annville Institute, attended Eastern Kentucky University. He taught school in a one room school in Jackson County. He owned B & B market on Main Street and retired from the grocery business after 37 years. He was an Elder and deacon at the First Christian Church. He was a very active member of the community, he served two terms on the Berea City Council, he served on the Berea Hospital Board and was a 50 year member of the Berea Lions Club and held every office at least twice during his 50 years. Graveside services will be 11 am Monday September 19, 2005 at Berea Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Birkett officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Sunday evening at Lakes Funeral Home.
