Thomas was 66 years of age and was born June 26, 1938 in Estill County to the late Banford and Mable Sparks Blevins. Mr. Blevins was a retired interior and exterior decorator and had worked as a security officer for Battles Security for 12 years. Mr. Blevins was a member of the Holiness Faith and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years and 9 months Lavada Rogers Blevins. Son Gary Stephen (Kristin) Blevins of Rockcastle Co. 2 Grandsons Stephen Lamar Blevins (Timbrook) and Gabriel Jarred Blevins (Bumpkin) and granddaughter Bethany Brook Blevins (Tigger) all of Rockcastle Co. Thomas loved his grandchildren and was their babysitter and gave them their nicknames until his illness began. Thomas enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his wife and late brother in law Arthur Rogers who preceded him in death. Thomas is also survived by 1 brother George Donald (Elsie) Blevins of Berea. 2 sisters Thelma Louise Blevins and Ruby Faye Blevins of Richmond. 1 niece Patty Jones and 1 nephew Kenny Jones both of Bellview, KY. He was preceded in death by 1 sister Orlee ones of Bellview, KY. Funeral services will be Tuesday Nov. 23, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro Paul and Beverly Arvin and Bro. Charles Whittemore. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mark Rogers, Michael Rogers, Lewis Rogers, Lloyd Rogers, Otis Robinson and Stephen Blevins. Honorary Pallbearers are Everett Rogers, Paul Howard, Ernest Robinson, Bobby Lamb and Denver Oneal. Visitation will be Monday Nov. 22, 2004 after 6:00 p.m. at the Lakes Funeral Home. |
