Ivory Jean Bennett

Ivory Jean Bennett, 73, of Four Mile Avenue, Richmond, passed away Monday morning, August 14, 2006, at Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Madison County to the late Dollie Green and Leland Bennett, Sr. She was a retired food service supervisor and had served at Eastern Kentucky University for many years. She was a member of the Richmond Predestinarian Baptist Church where she had been active in the church choir, the church Women’s Club and the church kitchen committee.

She is survived by a daughter, Ella Williams of Richmond; two sons, Ernest B. Williams of Richmond and Norman Dale Williams of Wilmington, NC; one brother Leland Bennett, Jr., of Madison County, seven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tyrone Williams, one brother, Hisle Bennett and one sister, Verna Katherine Hocker.

Pallbearers are Ernest B. Williams, Norman Dale Williams, Marcis Williams, Asante’ Jenkins, Percy Kirk, Leon Bennett, Marvin Bennett, and Leslie Neal. Honorary bearers are Billy Warren, Kenneth Cantrell, Ernest N. Williams, Leland Bennett, Jr., Garnett B. Smith and Thomas Smith.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Richmond Predestinarian Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the Newby Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. Friday at the church. Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
