| Ralph Gene Ballard Born: 02/10/1940 Died: 01/04/2005 Visitation: 6:00pm-9:00pm Friday Jan. 7, 2005 at Berea Baptist Church Funeral Service: 1:00pm Saturday Jan. 8, 2005 at Berea Baptist Church Interment: Entombment Berea Cemetery Ralph Gene Ballard, 64; husband of Betty Collins Ballard of Berea went on to be with the Lord on Tuesday Jan. 4, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was the son of George W. and Rella O’Neil Ballard of Berea. Gene attended the University of Kentucky and retired from Lexmark as a mechanical engineer in 2000. He was an active member of Pilot Knob Baptist Church where he served as deacon, a member of the finance committee and a Sunday school teacher. He was committed and dedicated to the Lords service all of his life. Survivors other than his wife and parents include: A son, Bryan Todd Ballard and wife Roxy of Marianna Florida and a daughter Teri Lynn Spillman of Berea. Three grandchildren: Brittany and Breeanna Ballard both of Marianna Florida, and Jordan Spillman of Berea, Kentucky. Two brothers William R. Ballard and wife Peggy of Berea and George E. Ballard and wife Betty of Princeton, KY. Several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews as well as a long list of friends and church family. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 8, 2005 at the Berea Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Taylor and Rev. Kenny Davis officiating. Entombment will be in the Berea Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday Jan. 7, 2005 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Berea Baptist Church. Contributions can be made to the Pilot Knob Church Building Fund PO Box 90 Big Hill, KY 40405.
