Blanche Back

Blanche Back, 79, of Monticello, passed away Friday, September 29, 2006, in her home in Monticello.

She was born April 27, 1927, in College Hill, the daughter of the late William Franklin Skinner and Sudie Quisenberry Skinner.

She is survived by: her husband, Dr. Joseph Back; three sons, Ed (Phyllis) Back of Monticello, Van (Karen) Back of Monticello and Jim (Brenda) Back of Monticello; two daughters, Kim (Bruce) Aspley of Peachtree City, Ga., and Delana (Gordon) Adkins of Frankfort; one brother, Dr. Russell Skinner of Mt. Sterling; three sisters, Leta Rice, Virginia Turner and Elizabeth Billings, all of Richmond; eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Laura, Joseph and Olivia Back and Tauna, Lizz and Alex Aspley and Katie Jo Adkins; and one great-grandchild, Eli Dawson Back.

She was preceded in death by: five brothers, Alby, Butler, Ernest, William and Elmer Skinner; and two sisters, Rub Skinner and Velma Wells.

She was a former Home Extension Agent, a Home Demonstration Agent, a Home Economics teacher and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. She was also a member of First Christian Church in Monticello.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October, 1, 2006, at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello with Bro. Harlan Ogle and Bro. Mel Gresham officiating. Burial was in Elk Spring Cemetery.

Nephews Danny Turner, Dr. Charles Rice, Dr. Rusty Skinner, John Billings, David Billings and Dr. Billy Breeding served as pallbearers.

Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
