| Mr. James Amyx Born: 12/03/1936 Died: 01/22/2005 Visitation: 6 PM Tuesday, Jan. 25 at Bible Baptist Church Funeral Service: 11 AM Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Bible Baptist Church Interment: Pine Grove Cemetery, Jackson Co., KY Mr. James Irvine Amyx, age 68 of West Palm Beach, FL and recently, Lamero, KY, died Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Rockcastle Hospital. He was born in Jackson Co., KY on Dec. 3, 1936 the son of William Franklin Amyx and Hattie Smith Amyx. He was a retired supervisor of transportation having been employed at the First Bank of Palm Beach and the Palm Beach Post Times. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Bible Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Peggy Jo Sparks Amyx; a goddaughter, Beth Amyx Abney; two brothers, John Carlos Amyx (Shirley) of Clarksville, TN, and Harold Amyx (Ann) of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Christina Hale (Elthur) of Richmond, IN, and Elizabeth Mullins (Russell) of Fountain City, IN; three grandsons, Bryson Amyx, Blaine Amyx, and Brenton (Zach) Amyx, all of Mt. Vernon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tex Amyx and Dennis Amyx; and two sisters, Opal Shepherd and Marie Hurley. |
