Allen age 86 of Rt.#2 Mt.Vernon died Saturday February 11, 2006 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Berea. He was born on October 17, 1919 in Rockcastle County the son of the late George and Fannie Jennings Allen. He was retired carpenter with bridge & buildings for the L&N Railroad enjoyed fishing, hunting, making pies, and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Survivors are: one son; Ralph Allen and wife Sue of Mt.Vernon. Five daughters; Mrs. Mildred Reynolds and husband Bill of Mt.Vernon, Mrs. Jessie Loeber, and Mrs. Leola Huffman both of Kettering, Ohio, Mrs. Teddie Clemmer and husband John of Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Carleen Renshaw and husband Meryl of Evansville, Ind.. One brother; Clinton Allen of Richmond, Ind.. Three sisters; Mrs. Odella Carpenter of Berea, Mrs. Eva Ebnet of Ft.Worth, Tex., and Mrs. Zena Golden of Hamilton, Oh. Eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years; Mrs. Gertrude Madonna Davidson Allen, by two brothers; Orbie, and Randal Allen, by four sisters; Flonnie Chaney, Georgia Davidson, Zora Shell, and Novella Bell, and by two infant children. |
