He was born in Rockcastle County on December 19, 1916, the son of Jack and Wilma Abney. He was a farmer and brick mason, he was also a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Della Myrtle Abney. Five sons, Denzil and Preston both of Kokomo, IN; Keytron, Terry and Johnny all of Montpelier, IN. Six daughters, Zella Miller, Faye Holbrook, Barbara Johnson and ruby Slone all of Mt. Vernon; Kathy Utterback of Lexington and Ruth Nestleroad of Montpelier, IN. Twenty-seven grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons, Keith Ray, Marion Jr. and Tenon Abney. |
