Enlisted on September 8, 1861 and mustered into service on October 30, 1861, in Evansville, Indiana.
Captured at Murfreesboro Tennessee on December 31, 1862 (presumably at the Battle of Stones River).
Confined at Richmond, Virginia on January 15, 1863.
Paroled at City Point, Virginia on January 20, 1863.
Reported at Camp Parole Maryland on January 21, 1863.
Transferred to Camp Chase Ohio on April 9, 1863.
Transferred to Indianapolis, Indiana on April 30, 1863.
Present at Company Muster Rolls from May through October, 1863
Re-enlisted as veteran at Chattanooga, Tennessee on January 1, 1864.
Wounded at the Battle of Allatoona, in Dallas, Georgia, on May 30, 1864 (gun shot wound to his right shoulder which caused a fracturing of the bone), and was subsequently transferred to Chattanooga (presumably to a hospital).
Transferred to a hospital in Indianapolis sometime between the months of September and December, 1864.
Discharged by reason of surgeon certificate of disability due to the shoulder wound on February 28, 1865 at Indianapolis, Indiana.
