Royal Oak Township Fire Dept. 1928

Before 1942, Hazel Park was part of Royal Oak Township. This photo is from 1928. when the Royal Oak Township Fire department was located on the North EastCorner of Stephenson (Now Northbound Chrysler Drive) and 9 Mile Road, about where McDonalds restaurant is now. House in rear of fire hall can be seen in another photo of the intersection from 1959.

Equipment consists of one LaFrance Type 75 6 tank chemical engine. Has a large siren giving alarm which can be heard for a long distance. Telephone alarm service. One up-to-date REO ambulance takes care of all emergency and poor cases in township and private calls.
