Before 1942, Hazel Park was part of Royal Oak Township. This photo is from 1928. when the Royal Oak Township Fire department was located on the North EastCorner of Stephenson (Now Northbound Chrysler Drive) and 9 Mile Road, about where McDonalds restaurant is now. House in rear of fire hall can be seen in another photo of the intersection from 1959.
