~ WORLD WAR I VETERANS ~
WORDS can never adequately express the pleasure and pride with which the people of Marlborough welcome the returning veterans of the World War, and much more difficult would it be to find words to voice our feelings toward those who, having made the supreme sacrifice, can be met fn spirit only. Much has been given by you -- the greater part, and watching with anxious solicitude your sacrifices and your deeds overseas, we at home are glad to have this opportunity of extending to you this " Welcome Home." We shall be pleased if you will accept and preserve this souvenir of Marlborough's war record as a slight expression of our gratitude.
