~ THE HIGH SCHOOL ~

The High School has a long history starting here.

On the corner of Rawlins Ave. and Main St. and set back on the hill and to the left
as you see it today, there once.......

stood the original high school that looked like this.

In 1897, construction was started on a new school to the right of the old high school

and upon completion, the two schools stood side by side

Eventually (1925), the old school was torn down and the new school was expanded.  The first part is that
section which is to the right of the picture.  To the left is the expansion and it.........

looks like this and is no longer the high school.  It is now known as the
Frank Walker Building named for a past Mayor of Marlborough.
A new high school was built......

on the corner of Union St. and Bolton St. and it looked like this.
This school was short lived as a high school and this became
the Middle School.  A new high school was built........

it looks like.........this.

The Middle School was the remodeled to accomodate the students from the
Bigelow and Hildreth Schools.
