Mrs Mary Rice
Wife to Mr Benjamin Rice
who died Oct ye 22nd AD 1736
in ye 66th Year of Her Age
Her maiden name was Graves, from SudburyNOTE:
F.P. Rice almost surely took the above detail regarding her maiden name as being "Graves" from Ward's book about the Rices, and Ward was almost surely wrong about Mary. The best indication of modern research is that Mary was Benjamin's cousin Mary RICE, daughter of Samuel. Ward was apparently confused by the fact that a different Benjamin Rice married a Mary Graves at Sudbury just the year before this Benjamin married Mary Rice at Marlborough.John Chandler
