The Committee of ten, consisting of Hollis Loring, L.E. Wakefield, O.W. Albee, Edward Wilkins, Sam Boyd, Mark Fay, W. H. Wood, Stephen Morse, Elbridge Howe and Francis Brigham appointed by the Town on Monday April 29, 1861 to take charge of disbursing the money voted by the Town to aid and encourage the military volunteers & c. met at the office of Hollis Loring April 29, 1861 and organized by the choice of Hollis Loring as Chairman and O. W. Albee as Secretary.
Voted to choose a finance committee of three.
Voted that Mark Fay, Sam Boyd & Francis Brigham be said finance committee.

Voted that each member of the Irish Volunteers be furnished with two flannel shirts - two pairs of wollen socks - one pair of shoes.
(The following was inserted in the left hand column. "Voted May 11, 1861 to rescind the vote at the top of the page relating to shirts, socks & shoes on account of word from Col. Cass.")
Voted that John Chipman be a committee to make a list of the Irish Company - said list to specify the name and residence of each volunteer and also those who have families - the number and age of the children etc..
Voted to pay each Irish Volunteer five dollars when they arrive at the fort in Boston Harbor.
Voted that a Committee of three be appointed to look after the families of the Irish Volunteers and furnish them such assistance as they may need.
Voted that Mark Fay, Sam Boyd & John Chipman be that Committee. (In the right hand column is written "Irish Family Committee" and then scratched out)

Voted that a Committee of three be appointed for providing shirts, socks shoes, bandages etc for the volunteers. (In the right hand column is written "volunteers in general")
Voted that Sam Boyd, William H. Wood & Charles M. Howe be said general providing Committee for the volunteers. (in the right hand column is written "General Providing Committee for the volunteers")
Voted that said general providing Committee furnish each one of the Rifle Company with two wollen shirts and such articles as the said Committee may deem proper.
Voted that the uniforms for the Rifle Company be paid for when the bills for said uniforms are presented to and approved by the Committee of ten. (in the right hand column is written "uniforms")
Voted that Stephen Morse Esq. Be the Treasurer of the Committee of ten. (in the right hand column is written "treasurer")

Voted that the finance Committee be authorized to draw on the Treasurer of the Committee of ten for such sums as may be necessary to carry into effect the notes of said Committee of ten. (in the right hand column is written "Duties of the finance Committee")
The above voted item was scratched out an in the left hand column is written "Voted May 1st 1861 that the vote recorded with regards to the Committee of ten standing at the top of this page be rescinded as superfluous.
Voted that the finance Committee be instructed to procure two thousand dollars from the town Treasurer to be deposited in the hands of the Treasurer of the Committee of ten to be dispersed in accordance with the votes of the Committee of ten

Meeting called to order by the Chairman
Voted to pay the board of the Irish Volunteers not exceeding three days from this date, fifty cents for each days board. (in the right hand column is written "Irish comp $1.50")
Voted that the approval of a bill by a majority of the Committee of ten endorsed thereon by the Secretary be sufficient order on the Treasurer of the Committee of ten for its payment. (in the right hand column is written "Bills how approved")

Meeting called to order
Voted to pay to each member of the Marlboro Rifle Company three dollars for time spent in drilling during the week ending Saturday May 4th, 1861. (in the right hand column is written "$240.00")
Voted to pay each member of the Irish Volunteers fifty cents a day for the Sunday, Monday & Tuesday immediately succeeding this date. (in the right hand column is written "Irish Company $1.50" and then scratched out)
Voted that a committee of three be appointed to examine and report on the bills for the uniforms of the Rifle Company. (in the right hand column is written "Committee on bills for uniforms" and then scratched out)
William H. Wood, Hollis Loring & Eldridge Howe were appointed said committee.
Voted to lend Capt. John Carey a sum not to exceed fifty dollars to procure his uniform, sword & other equipment's. (in the right hand column is written "Capt. Carey $50.00" and then scratched out)

Voted that the Treasurer of the Committee of ten lend John Chipman sixty dollars for the Irish Volunteers.
Voted to rescind the vote passed April 29, 1861 in regard to shirts, socks & shoes for the Irish Volunteers. This was done in response (?) of word from Co. Cass.
Voted that John Chipman, W. H. Wood & O. W. Albee be a committee to escort the Irish Volunteers to Boston next to be the day.
Voted to approve the order of fifty dollars on the Treasurer of the Committee of ten in favor of Capt. John Cary as by vote of May 4, 1861 (in the right hand column is written "50.00")
The Finance Committee reported that they had procured two thousand dollars of the Town Treasurer and placed the sum in the hands of the Treasurer of ten in accordance with a vote passed April 29, 1861.

Voted that the Finance Committee be instructed to draw on the Town Treasurer an order for one thousand dollars to be placed in the hands of the Treasurer of the Committee of ten. (in the right hand column is written "1000.00")
Voted that the Committee of ten be instructed to furnish the committee appointed to escort the Irish Volunteers to Boston with four hundred dollars for the purpose of paying each member of the Irish Volunteers five dollars in accordance with a vote passed April 29, 1861. (in the right hand column is written "400.00")
Voted to uniform the Union Rifle Guards provided the cost of each uniform does not exceed sixteen dollars.
Voted that a committee of two be appointed on the part of the Committee of ten to be joined by a Committee of one on the part of the Union Rifle Guards to procure said uniforms.

The Treasurer of the Committee of ten has paid out five thousand, five hundred and sixteen dollars and sixty one cents.
He has received back for articles not used nineteen dollars and forty two cents, thus leaving a balance in the hands of the Treasurer of two dollars and eighty one cents.
