~ AERIAL VIEWS of MARLBOROUGH ~ It should be noted that the exact year of these photos is not known. I have concluded that the year could be the summer of 1941 or the summer of 1946 (unless noted). This is based on the following. The newest vehicle that I can find i a 1941 Cadillac; the auto industry stopped making cars in 1942 due to the War effort and did not start up again until late 1945 or late 1946. The Marlborough airport was shut down during the War and did not reopen untill 1946. It must have been summer time due to the full foliage on the trees. Therefore the conclusion was drawn that the year could have been 1941 due to the car, ot 1946 due to the reopening of the airport and the abscence of any 1947 model vehicles. If anyone can make an identification of a landmark that would tie the photos down to an exact year, I would appreciate hearing from you. ........john
